4 COLORS
Introduction
Toupty offers children and their parents the opportunity to play UNO online. In the following paragraphs, we will first introduce the UNO game in general and then detail the game rules. We will specifically explain how to play and use the features available in this version of the game.
Presentation of the UNO Game
The UNO game consists of cards in four colors (blue, green, red, yellow) numbered from 0 to 9, as well as several special cards. More precisely, there are 19 numbered cards from 0 to 9 for each color, 8 "+2" cards, 8 reverse cards, 8 skip cards, 4 wild cards, and 4 wild draw four cards. Initially, each player has 7 cards in hand, and the goal of UNO is to get rid of all your cards. The first player with no cards left in their hand wins the round. When a player wins a round, their opponents receive penalty points based on the cards they still have at the end of the round. The game is played over several rounds, and the match ends when one player reaches 500 points. The winner of the match is the player with the lowest score. The undealt cards are placed in a pile face down, called the draw pile. To start the round, the first card is turned over and placed next to the draw pile, becoming the first card of what is called the discard pile. Each player then takes turns placing one of their cards according to the last card placed on the discard pile. To play a card, certain rules must be followed, which we detail in the following paragraph.
UNO Game Rules
The top card of the discard pile can be covered by a card of the same color, a card of the same value (same number), or a wild card. If a player cannot play a card, they must draw one from the draw pile. If the card allows them to play, they place it on the discard pile; otherwise, they skip their turn and it is the next player's turn. When a player places their second-to-last card, they must announce UNO. If they forget, they must draw 2 additional cards.
When a "+2" card is played, the next player must draw 2 cards and skip their turn unless they also have a "+2" card that they can play. In this case, the immediately next player must draw 4 cards.
When a reverse card is played, the direction of play simply reverses.
When a skip card is played, the next player skips their turn.
The wild card can be played on any other card and allows the player to choose the color with which the game continues.
The wild draw four card is played like the wild card, but the next player must draw 4 cards.

UNO Cards and Their Use
Numbered Cards (0-9): These are the most common cards in the game. They come in four colors: red, yellow, green, and blue. A player can play a numbered card if it matches the color or the number of the card previously placed on the pile.
Skip: When a player plays this card, the next player is forced to skip their turn. It comes in all four colors.
Reverse: This card changes the direction of play. If the game was proceeding clockwise, it will now go counterclockwise, and vice versa. It is also available in all four colors.
+2 (Draw Two): When a player plays this card, the next player must draw two cards and skip their turn. It is available in all four colors.
Wild: This card allows the player to choose the color they want for the next round. The player who plays this card announces the color of their choice.
Wild Draw Four: This card allows the player to choose the color for the next round, and the next player must draw four cards and skip their turn. However, this card can only be played if the player has no card of the currently played color.
Card 0: When a player plays a "0" card, all players pass their cards to the next player in the current direction of play.
History of UNO
The history of Uno began in 1971 when Merle Robbins, the owner of a small grocery store in Reading, Ohio, created a card game to play with his family. This game consisted of a standard deck of cards, with colors and numbers, as well as special cards such as "Skip," "Reverse," and "Draw Two." The game was so enjoyed by Robbins' family and his grocery customers that he decided to produce and sell it to others.
Robbins began selling his card game in his grocery store, and it quickly gained popularity in the area. In 1979, International Games Inc. bought the rights to produce and distribute the game under the name Uno. The game soon became popular in the United States and began to be sold worldwide.
Over the years, Uno has become one of the most popular and best-selling card games in the world, with over 100 million copies sold. It has also seen numerous variations, including themed editions, versions for children, and digital versions for mobile devices and video game consoles for playing Uno online.
An interesting anecdote about Uno is that the game was played aboard the American space shuttle Atlantis during its mission in 2006. The astronauts played the game to pass the time and demonstrate how leisure activities can be conducted in space.
The history of Uno is an example of how a small family card game can become one of the most popular and best-selling card games in the world. Its simplicity, accessibility, and long history of innovation keep it at the forefront of popularity.
